On May 15, a meeting of the UBA Committee on Competition Law took place in Lviv, dedicated to current challenges in the bankruptcy market, the practical application of insolvency procedures, and professional issues related to insolvency trustees and private enforcement officers.
The event brought together representatives of the judiciary, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, insolvency trustees, attorneys, and private enforcement officers to discuss practical aspects of competition law, new legislative initiatives, and the challenges faced by the professional community under current conditions.
As part of the program, Artur Megeria, Senior Partner at L.I.Group and Head of the Council of Insolvency Trustees of Kyiv City, participated in several sessions of the event. In particular, he joined discussions on simplified bankruptcy procedures for micro and small businesses, the role of insolvency trustees within the new insolvency framework, as well as current professional challenges facing the industry.
Among the participants were Oleksii Voronko, Head of the UBA Committee on Competition Law and Managing Partner at Ario Law Firm, Member of Parliament of Ukraine Oleksii Movchan, Serhii Donkov, Director of the Bankruptcy Department of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, as well as judges, insolvency trustees, and leading experts in the field of competition law.
Special attention during the event was dedicated to the professional reputation of insolvency trustees, interaction with creditors and courts, procedural safeguards within the profession, and new legislative mechanisms in the areas of bankruptcy and restructuring.
